When I first started building, I didn’t come from tech. No CS degree. No founder network. Not even a clue what “pre-seed” meant. Just curiosity, grit, and the guts to cold DM someone I admired. That message changed my life — she became my mentor, and now we’re building two companies together.

But let’s be real: most people don’t get that kind of shot.

The Canadian startup scene can feel quiet, scattered, and hard to break into. That’s exactly why we started Founded in Canada — to change that.

This isn’t just another Slack channel. It’s a real effort to spotlight the builders flying under the radar, connect across provinces, and reshape what startup community means here.
